Consider the Cost

For the young people considering the gay lifestyle, I humbly ask that you first consider the cost. There are many issues that any reasonable person should consider before making a lifelong commitment to any lifestyle. Please take a look. Those who are 100% sure that they were born gay need not read further, but they need to explain why so many genetically identical twins make different choices. https://www.sciencemag.org/news/2008/06/gay-not-all-genes

In 1993 Paul Cameron published a study which found that homosexuality takes 20-30 years off the lives of its practitioners.[2]

Among women 18-44 years of age, 29% of bisexual women and 23% of lesbians are living in poverty, compared to 21% of their heterosexual counterparts.

20% of gay men and 25% of bisexual men 18-44 years of age are living at or below the federal level of poverty, compared to 15% of heterosexual men.

A study of transgender adults in the United States found that participants were nearly 4 times more likely to have a household income of less than $10,000 per year compared to the general population.

LGBTQ youth were 3.5 times as likely to attempt suicide as their heterosexual peers. Transgender teens were 5.87 times more likely.  Gay and lesbian youth were 3.71 times more likely Bisexual youth were 3.69 times more likely to attempt suicide than teens who identified as heterosexual.

This is the end of the summary, so lets take a look at each of these a little closer.

1. Suicide rates

The 2018 review, published in JAMA Pediatrics, compiled data from 35 previous studies. The analysis involved close to 2.4 million heterosexual youth and 113,468 LGBTQ youth, ages 12 to 20, from 10 countries.

The results included the following LGBTQ suicide statistics:

LGBTQ youth were 3.5 times as likely to attempt suicide as their heterosexual peers. Transgender teens were 5.87 times more likely.  Gay and lesbian youth were 3.71 times more likely Bisexual youth were 3.69 times more likely to attempt suicide than teens who identified as heterosexual.

Furthermore, the national Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS), conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, found that 40 percent of high school students who identify as gay, lesbian, or bisexual or questioning (unsure of their orientation) have seriously considering suicide.

2. Longevity

In 1993 Paul Cameron published a study which found that homosexuality takes 20-30 years off the lives of its practitioners.[2]

Among men with AIDS their lifespan was 39 years, however even without AIDS a male homosexuals lifespan is just a short 42 years. Lesbians had a median age of death of just 44 years. He also found that lesbians were up to 456 times more likely to die in a car crash than heterosexual women.[3]

3. Income

PDF Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity & Socioeconomic Status

Evidence indicates individuals who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, and/or transgender (LGBT) are especially susceptible to socioeconomic disadvantages. Thus, SES is inherently related to the rights, quality of life, and general well-being of LGBT persons.

Differences in Income

Prior research has shown that LGBT people and same-sex/ gender couples are more vulnerable to conditions of poverty as compared to heterosexual people and couples (Badgett, Durso, & Schneebaum, 2013; Grant et al., 2011).

Low-income LGBT individuals and same-sex/gender couples have been found more likely to receive cash assistance and food stamps benefits compared to heterosexual individuals or couples.

4 What the Bible says

The Bible describes a curse of forsaking natural relations between men and women..

Heres the verse:

ESV Rom 1:24Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, 25because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.

26For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature;

27 and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

28 And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. 29 They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, 31 foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 32 Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.

Over the years I wondered what was this due penalty for their error in vs 27. Perhaps it is simply the consequences of the lifestyle, the high suicide rate, the lower income levels, and the shortened lifespan!

May God Guide and protect You!

Thanks

Glenn
