The Dichotomy Between Faith in the Real God and Man’s Free Will

First lets look a the word dichotomy. Merriam-Webster Online gives us this:

Dichotomy –

a division into two especially mutually exclusive or contradictory groups or entities -the dichotomy between theory and practice

I’ve never seen this before, but now I see that true faith in the God of the Bible is contradictory to a belief in the free will of man! Most folks today totally miss the numerous clear examples of God’s Sovereignty in the scriptures. Most are quite satisfied with the God presented by today’s priest-class, the God who relies on choices of men. I pray the next Bible examples, will chip away at your idol of choice!

Pastors preach and most think that God allows the free will of men to somehow override his will. This is foolishness – this “Free Will Thinking”!! God’s will is already being done on earth as it is in heaven!!! Jesus’ prayer is just one of the many places where God is trying to get the message across. But this can only be seen by those with eyes to see. The God of Today’s Weak Churches is a very weak substitute for the omnipotent God of the Bible. Today’s churches worship the wrong God! While they admit that God’s ways are above mans, they have no appreciation for the degree. Scripture declares “As the heaven are higher than the earth”. This is not saying a little bit higher, it is orders and orders of magnitude higher!!

NLT Is 55:8-9

8“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord.

And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.

9For just as the heavens are higher than the earth,

so my ways are higher than your ways

and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.

While the Lord’s judgments are true:

Psalm 19:9-11 The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.

10 More to be desired are they than gold,

Yea, than much fine gold;

Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

He also made the wicked:

Proverbs 16:4 The Lord has made all for Himself, Yes, even the wicked for the day of doom.

He even makes evil:

Is 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.

God made the Devil, the waster, to destroy!

KJV Is 54:16-17

16 Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy.

17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.

God even brings men their strong delusions!

KJV 2 Thess 2:11-12

11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

God made Joseph’s Brothers sell him into slavery for Good!!

KJV Gen 50:29-20 Joseph said to them, “Do not be afraid, for am I in the place of God? 20 But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.

God made King Saul hurl the spear at David

NLT 1 Sam 19:9 But one day when Saul was sitting at home, with spear in hand, the tormenting spirit[a] from the Lord suddenly came upon him again. As David played his harp, 10 Saul hurled his spear at David. But David dodged out of the way, and leaving the spear stuck in the wall, he fled and escaped into the night.

God made Herod, Potius Pilate, the Gentiles and the people of Israel Crucify Jesus!

Act 4:27-37

27 For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,

28 For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done.

29 And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,

30 By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.

31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.

33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.

34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,

35 And laid them down at the apostles’ feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.

36 And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus,

37 Having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.

God made Abraham Bless Isaac not Esau KJV Heb 12:14-17

14Pursue peace with everyone, as well as holiness, without which no one will see the Lord. 15See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up and causes you trouble, or many of you will become defiled. 16No one should be immoral or godless like Esau, who sold his birthright for a single meal. 17For you know that afterwards, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected because he could not find any opportunity to repent, even though he begged to repent with tears.

And again in the YLT Heb 12:14-17

14 peace pursue with all, and the separation, apart from which no one shall see the Lord, 15 looking diligently over lest any one be failing of the grace of God, lest any root of bitterness springing up may give trouble, and through this many may be defiled; 16 lest any one be a fornicator, or a profane person, as Esau, who in exchange for one morsel of food did sell his birthright, 17 for ye know that also afterwards, wishing to inherit the blessing, he was disapproved of, for a place of reformation he found not, though with tears having sought it.

While these passages don’t clearly state that God did this, the Hebrews verses clearly explain that Esau was reaping what he sowed. He was godless and profane when he sold his birthright for a single meal. This was something that could not be undone. I have to conclude that the ruse of Gen 27 where Rebekah and Jacob tricked Isaac to bless Jacob was the perfect will of God.

Mordikai’s Appeal To Queen Esther

YLT Esther 4:14-17

14 but if thou keep entirely silent at this time, respite and deliverance remaineth to the Jews from another place, and thou and the house of thy fathers are destroyed; and who knoweth whether for a time like this thou hast come to the kingdom?’

15 And Esther speaketh to send back unto Mordecai:

16 `Go, gather all the Jews who are found in Shushan, and fast for me, and do not eat nor drink three days, by night and by day; also I and my young women do fast likewise, and so I go in unto the king, that [is] not according to law, and when I have perished — I have perished.’

17 And Mordecai passeth on, and doth according to all that Esther hath charged upon him.

Modecai [having heard from the Lord] warns Esther that if she remains silent, deliverance of the Jews will come from another place! [If you still think that this means Esther chose to do her part, you might as well skip down to the Post Script – you are denying the obvious. I must admit that I was where you are now[for a period of about 10 years], but Lord willing, he will bring you out of this deliusion. Perhaps, like I was recently judged to be among the wicked, and God gave me ears to hear in this life!!

God Smote every living thing on Earth in The Flood

KJV Gen 8: 21 And the Lord smelled a sweet savour; and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.

God Smote 500,000 Israelites at the Hands of Judah

NIV 2 Chronicles 13:15-18

15 and the men of Judah raised the battle cry. At the sound of their battle cry, God routed Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah. 16 The Israelites fled before Judah, and God delivered them into their hands. 17 Abijah and his troops inflicted heavy losses on them, so that there were five hundred thousand casualties among Israel’s able men. 18 The Israelites were subdued on that occasion, and the people of Judah were victorious because they relied on the Lord, the God of their ancestors.

Lord Smoting Egypt’s Firstborn

KJV Ex 12:29 And it came to pass, that at midnight the Lord smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle.

The God of our Bibles is Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnipresent. He is all powerful, all seeing, and present everywhere at all time. But our pastors teach of a God who bows to the silly choices of men, saying that the God who has written all our days before we are born yields to our desires.

NLT Ps 139:14-17

14Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!

Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.

15You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,

as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.

16You saw me before I was born.

Every day of my life was recorded in your book.

Every moment was laid out

before a single day had passed.

17How precious are your thoughts about me, O God.

They cannot be numbered!]

They declare that Man chooses God, but your word speaks the truth.

YLT John 15:15-17

15 no more do I call you servants, because the servant hath not known what his lord doth, and you I have called friends, because all things that I heard from my Father, I did make known to you. 16 ‘Ye did not choose out me, but I chose out you, and did appoint you, that ye might go away, and might bear fruit, and your fruit might remain, that whatever ye may ask of the Father in my name, He may give you. 17 ‘These things I command you, that ye love one another;

Dear God,

Thank you for all that you do, for revealing truth to babes, for cutting off the wise, the worldly. May his will be done on earth as it is in heaven! Oh Lord, give us eyes to see that your will is already being done on earth as it is in heavent!!

P.S. Other Bible Examples of the Lord’s Power

Lord Smoting 14,700 in Israel

KJV Numbers 16:44-45

44 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

45 Get you up from among this congregation, that I may consume them as in a moment. And they fell upon their faces.

Some Other Smoting References:

In Joshua 6:20-21, God helps the Israelites destroy Jericho, killing “men and women, young and old, cattle, sheep and donkeys.” In Deuteronomy 2:32-35, God has the Israelites kill everyone in Heshbon, including children. In Deuteronomy 3:3-7, God has the Israelites do the same to the people of Bashan. In Numbers 31:7-18, the Israelites kill all the Midianites except for the virgins, whom they take as spoils of war. In 1 Samuel 15:1-9, God tells the Israelites to kill all the Amalekites – men, women, children, infants, and their cattle – for something the Amalekites’ ancestors had done 400 years earlier

God Smote 50,070? for Peeking into the Ark [New translations say only 70 died for this]

KJV 1 Samuel 6:19

19 And he smote the men of Bethshemesh, because they had looked into the ark of the Lord, even he smote of the people fifty thousand and threescore and ten men: and the people lamented, because the Lord had smitten many of the people with a great slaughter.

God Smote 3,000 When Moses Comes Down From the Mountain with the Commandments

KJV Ex 32:27-29

27 Then he said to them, “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘Each man strap a sword to his side. Go back and forth through the camp from one end to the other, each killing his brother and friend and neighbor.’” 28 The Levites did as Moses commanded, and that day about three thousand of the people died. 29 Then Moses said, “You have been set apart to the Lord today, for you were against your own sons and brothers, and he has blessed you this day.”

God Protects Gibeon from the Amorites

KJVJoshua 10:5-14

5 Therefore the five kings of the Amorites, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon, gathered themselves together, and went up, they and all their hosts, and encamped before Gibeon, and made war against it.

6 And the men of Gibeon sent unto Joshua to the camp to Gilgal, saying, Slack not thy hand from thy servants; come up to us quickly, and save us, and help us: for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the mountains are gathered together against us.

7 So Joshua ascended from Gilgal, he, and all the people of war with him, and all the mighty men of valour.

8 And the Lord said unto Joshua, Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee.

9 Joshua therefore came unto them suddenly, and went up from Gilgal all night.

10 And the Lord discomfited them before Israel, and slew them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them along the way that goeth up to Bethhoron, and smote them to Azekah, and unto Makkedah.

11 And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Bethhoron, that the Lord cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword.

12 Then spake Joshua to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.

13 And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.

14 And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the Lord hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the Lord fought for Israel.

God Smoting Sodom and Gomorrah

KJV Gen 19:24-29

24 Then the Lord rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven;

25 And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.

26 But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.

27 And Abraham gat up early in the morning to the place where he stood before the Lord:

28 And he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain, and beheld, and, lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a furnace.

29 And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in the which Lot dwelt.

Children Who Jeered Elisha Mauled By Bears

KJV 2 Kings 2:23-25

23 From there Elisha went up to Bethel. As he was walking along the road, some boys came out of the town and jeered at him. “Get out of here, baldy!” they said. “Get out of here, baldy!” 24 He turned around, looked at them and called down a curse on them in the name of the Lord. Then two bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the boys. 25 And he went on to Mount Carmel and from there returned to Samaria.

Samson Smites 3000

KJV Judges 16:27-30

27 Now the house was full of men and women; and all the lords of the Philistines were there; and there were upon the roof about three thousand men and women, that beheld while Samson made sport.

28 And Samson called unto the Lord, and said, O Lord God, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes.

29 And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the house stood, and on which it was borne up, of the one with his right hand, and of the other with his left.

30 And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life.
