Pastors Are Not God’s Shepherds!
If you ask church goers who is responsible to lead them to the truth, most will respond “My Pastor”. While today’s fallen church model does support this idea, God’s word does not. The Bible tells us something very different.
Spirit of truth:
NLT John 16:12 “There is so much more I want to tell you, but you can’t bear it now. 13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. 14 He will bring me glory by telling you whatever he receives from me. 15 All that belongs to the Father is mine; this is why I said, ‘The Spirit will tell you whatever he receives from me.’
The Holy Spirit’s job is to lead us in to all truth! He wants to tell us about the future and tell us all that Jesus wants us to know!! If we are looking to a human leader for this we are looking in the wrong place. This is not our pastor’s job!!! For this we need to be listening to the Holy Spirit. This next passage is talking about the true New Testament Church. Paul laid the foundation for the Church of Jesus Christ. He showed us how to do things God’s way.
NLT 1 Cor 3:10 Because of God’s grace to me, I have laid the foundation like an expert builder. Now others are building on it. But whoever is building on this foundation must be very careful. 11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one we already have―Jesus Christ.
12 Anyone who builds on that foundation may use a variety of materials―gold, silver, jewels, wood, hay, or straw. 13 But on the judgment day, fire will reveal what kind of work each builder has done. The fire will show if a person’s work has any value. 14 If the work survives, that builder will receive a reward. 15 But if the work is burned up, the builder will suffer great loss. The builder will be saved, but like someone barely escaping through a wall of flames. 16 Don’t you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you? 17 God will destroy anyone who destroys this temple. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.18 Stop deceiving yourselves. If you think you are wise by this world’s standards, you need to become a fool to be truly wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. As the Scriptures say,
“He traps the wise in the snare of their own cleverness.”
20 And again,“The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise; he knows they are worthless.”
21 So don’t boast about following a particular human leader. For everything belongs to you―22 whether Paul or Apollos or Peter, or the world, or life and death, or the present and the future. Everything belongs to you, 23 and you belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God.
The biblical Shepard role is very different from what today’s Pastors do. While a biblical Shepherd sacrifices his life for the sheep[Are You In Christ’s Sheepfold?], and washes the feet of his disciples [Jesus Foot Washing Example], today pastors are too busy living off their flocks, and lording over them. Both practices are specifically prohibited by God’s word.
The Bible Shepherd leaves the 99 sheep to fend for themselves while he searches for the one lost sheep. Today’s pastor’s attention is so fully absorbed in trying to control and feed the 99 he has no time or concern for these lost sheep. These men are trying to perform the role of Holy Spirit while they deny his power. This is a form of blasphemy. They are seeking the approval of Men. This is not God’s call. Galations warns us to seek God’s approval, not the approval of men.
Approval of God
NLT Gal 1:8 Let God’s curse fall on anyone, including us or even an angel from heaven, who preaches a different kind of Good News than the one we preached to you. 9 I say again what we have said before: If anyone preaches any other Good News than the one you welcomed, let that person be cursed. 10 Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.
James warns us against self ambition. Right after the warning that no one can tame their tongue, James 3 tells us about the wisdom of God:
True Wisdom Comes from God NLT James 3:13-18
13 If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom. 14 But if you are bitterly jealous and there is selfish ambition in your heart, don’t cover up the truth with boasting and lying. 15 For jealousy and selfishness are not God’s kind of wisdom. Such things are earthly, unspiritual, and demonic. 16 For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind.
17 But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. 18 And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.
Yes, those who seek to exalt themselves are earthly and demonic, and God opposes them! We must humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God.
NLT 1 Peter 5:5 In the same way, you younger men must accept the authority of the elders. And all of you, serve each other in humility, for
“God opposes the proud but favors the humble.”
6 So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. 7 Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. 8 Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. 9 Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your Christian brothers and sisters all over the world are going through the same kind of suffering you are.
10 In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation. 11 All power to him forever! Amen.
I will probably lose many when I tell you that The role of Pastor is an abomination to God. It is directly opposed to his word of God. The bible declares that true worship is offering our lives as a living holy sacrifice to God, seeking and following his Holy Spirit at pure assemblies, at Real Communion Services. To remain pure and holy these assemblies must turn away all the continue to sin unto death. The Sin That Leads to Death: Continuing In Blatant Willful Outward Sin
Please show your sheep the truth about their abominable Pastors. Help them to come our of Babylon, to leave the lukewarm churches, to hear your knock outside the camp. Help us to bring you glory. To appreciate your power, and seek your wisdom. In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen.
