God’s Kingdom Is On Earth Now!

The passages tell us that God’s Kingdom is at hand, but we don’t hear much about it in our churches. This was a key concept that Jesus preached. Every time we pray the Lord’s Prayer we are asking “thy Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.” Most presume that we are talking about the future millennial reign of Christ, but this is view is not consistent with many passages.

Mar 1:14 Later on, after John was arrested, Jesus went into Galilee, where he preached God ‘s Good News. 15 “The time promised by God has come at last!” he announced. “The Kingdom of God is near! Repent of your sins and believe the Good News!”

The ‘time promised by God’ in vs 16 is referring to what?

AMP Mar 1:15 And saying, The [appointed period of] time is fulfilled (completed), and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent (have a change of mind which issues in regret for past sins and in change of conduct for the better) and believe (trust in, rely on, and adhere to) the good news (the Gospel).

ASV Mar 1:15 and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe in the gospel.

So the Kingdom of God was at hand when Jesus walked the earth! We don’t need to wait for its arrival any longer! It is not reserved for the millennium.

NLT Matt 4:17 13 And leaving Nazareth, He came and lived in Capernaum, which is on the seacoast, in the borders of Zebulun and Naphtali, 14 so that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying, 15 “The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, by way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the nations! 16 The people who sat in darkness saw a great Light; and Light has sprung up to those who sat in the region and shadow of death.” From then on Jesus began to preach, “Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near[Amp ‘at hand’]. ”

So when Jesus went to Zebulun and Naphtali the Kingdom of God had arrived on earth. Light has sprung up out of the darkness.   Lets look at the passage referred to in Isaiah.

MKJV Is 9:1 Yet there will be no gloom for her who was in anguish, as in the former time. He degraded the land of Zebulun, and the land of Naphtali, so afterwards He will glorify the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the nations. 2 The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; they who dwell in the land of the shadow of death, on them the light has shined. 3 You have multiplied the nation. You have not increased the joy. They rejoice before You according to the joy in harvest, and as men rejoice when they divide the spoil. 4 For You have broken the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his taskmaster, as in the day of Midian. 5 For every boot of the warrior is with commotion, and the coat rolled in blood shall be burning fuel for the fire. 6 For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be on His shoulder; and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. 7 There is no end of the increase of His government and peace on the throne of David, and on His kingdom, to order it and to establish it with judgment and with justice from now on, even forever[So after Jesus established the Kingdom of God at his first coming it will not die and be reborn at his return, it will continue to increase]. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will do this. 8 The Lord sent a word to Jacob, and it has fallen on Israel. 9 And all the people shall know, Ephraim and the people of Samaria, who say in pride and hardness of heart, 10 The bricks have fallen down, but we will build with cut stones; the sycamores are cut down, but we use cedars instead. 11 And the LORD shall set up the foes of Rezin against him, and spur on his enemies; 12 the Syrians in front and the Philistines behind; and they shall devour Israel with open mouth. For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still. 13 For the people do not turn to Him who strikes them, nor do they seek the LORD of hosts. 14 And the LORD will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day. 15 The elder and honorable, he is the head; and the prophet who teaches lies, he is the tail. [The head, the leaders of those contending with God, our pastors and elders will be cut off in one day (prophetic day – real year). The same fate applies to the the tail, the prophets supporting our priest class, those preaching peace with God when there is no peace] 16 For the leaders of this people led them astray; and their guided ones are swallowed up. 17 For this the Lord shall not rejoice over their young men, nor shall He have mercy on their orphans and widows; for everyone is a hypocrite and an evildoer, and every mouth speaks foolishness. In all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still. 18 For wickedness burns like the fire; it shall devour the briers and thorns, and shall kindle in the thickets of the forest, and they shall roll upwards like the lifting up of smoke. 19 Through the wrath of the LORD of hosts is the land scorched, and the people shall be as the fuel of the fire; no man shall have pity on his brother. 20 And he shall cut off on the right hand and be hungry; and he shall eat on the left, and they shall not be satisfied. Each man shall eat the flesh of his own arm; 21 Manasseh, Ephraim; and Ephraim, Manasseh; and they together shall be against Judah. In all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Wow, this passage has severe implications for Judah, for todays church. God is angry with them. In on day both their leaders [their pastors, elders and prophets] will be cut off [See God’s Shepherd Warning]. But this is talking about the second coming, when Jesus returns in anger and wrath[The Fall Of The Abomination ].

Earlier in this passage we are told that the Kingdom of God, the kingdom that Jesus established will be ever increasing and without end. I think this next passage tells how to identify the Kingdom of God.

NLT Matt 12:28 But if I am casting out demons by the Spirit of God, then the Kingdom of God has arrived among you.

When we see folks really doing miracles ‘by the spirit of God’ then we’ll know God’s kingdom has arrived, then the Kingdom will be among us. Miracles at the hands of the beast, miracles at the hands of those aligned with today’s pries class system do not qualify. We have to be discerning. We have to observe the tree to discern if the fruit is good.

NLT Matt 7:18 A good tree can’t produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit. 19 So every tree that does not produce good fruit is chopped down and thrown into the fire. 20 Yes, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions.

True Disciples

21 “Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. 22 On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ 23 But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’

Is this miracle worker doing the will of the father, is he a humble obedient servant sacrificing his life for others, or is he part of the Lord over priest class, the The Abomination of desolation.

Many think the Kingdom of God was on earth when Jesus was here, and we will have to wait for his return to see it again. I disagree. Jesus promised that when we ask for things in Jesus’ name we will receive them.

NKJV John 15:9-17 Love and Joy Perfected

9 “As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. 10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.

11 “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. 12 This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. [Loving serving and sacrificing for others a Jesus did]13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. 14 You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. 15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. 17 These things I command you, that you love one another.

This passage calls us friends of God and commands us to love as Jesus loved. Commands Of The Lord. We are promised that whatever we ask the Father in Jesus name, he will give us. So what does it mean when we pray for something and do not receive it?

There are three possibilities here:

1. It is not yet God’s time for this. Technically this could be considered a sub category of the next possibility.

2. What we asked is not God will, [perhaps not yet God’s will, or just not quite what he desires]

3. We are not asking in Jesus name. This could be asking in disobedience [When God Hears Our Prayers], not keeping his commands, or asking out of our selfish nature, not in harmony with the Holy Spirit.

NLT Luke 13:27 And he will reply, ‘I tell you, I don’t know you or where you come from. Get away from me, all you who do evil.’ 28 “There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, for you will see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in the Kingdom of God, but you will be thrown out. 29 And people will come from all over the world—from east and west, north and south—to take their places in the Kingdom of God. 30 And note this: Some who seem least important now will be the greatest then, and some who are the greatest now will be least important then.

When people come from all around to the Kindom of God, they won’t be following the mainstream preachers. It will be the least, the beheaded saints of Rev 20, the pure remnant, those who separate themselves from the abomination!  This passage also refers to Jesus’ second coming.

MKJV Rev 20:3 And he cast him into the abyss and shut him up and set a seal on him, that he should deceive the nations no more until the thousand years should be fulfilled. And after that he must be loosed a little time. 4 And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the witness of Jesus and for the Word of God, and who had not worshiped the beast nor his image, nor had received his mark on their foreheads, nor in their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. The second death has no authority over these, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and will reign with Him a thousand years.

These beheaded saints, those who recognize the abomination, our priest class churches, and turn away from them are the ones who take part int the ‘first resurrection’.

People stuck in today’s pastor pew-sitter churches will not qualify to reign with Christ. Many have accepted the mark of the beast, trying to buy God with their tithes to the beast, to the priest class, to men who are trying to sell God to make a living. This is explained at The Fall Of The Abomination. Even those who do not accept the mark of the beast are impure, tainted by the leaven of hypocrisy, not fit for special use.

The Coming of the Kingdom

Luke 17:20 One day the Pharisees asked Jesus, “When will the Kingdom of God come?” Jesus replied, “The Kingdom of God can’t be detected by visible signs. 21 You won’t be able to say, ‘Here it is!’ or ‘It’s over there!’ For the Kingdom of God is already among you” 22 Then he said to his disciples, “The time is coming when you will long to see the day when the Son of Man returns, but you won’t see it. 23 People will tell you, ‘Look, there is the Son of Man,’ or ‘Here he is,’ but don’t go out and follow them. 24 For as the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other, so it will be on the day when the Son of Man comes. 25 But first the Son of Man must suffer terribly and be rejected by this generation. 26 “When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah’s day. 27 In those days, the people enjoyed banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat and the flood came and destroyed them all. 28 “And the world will be as it was in the days of Lot. People went about their daily business—eating and drinking, buying and selling, farming and building— 29 until the morning Lot left Sodom. Then fire and burning sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. 30 Yes, it will be ‘business as usual’ right up to the day when the Son of Man is revealed. 31 On that day a person out on the deck of a roof must not go down into the house to pack. A person out in the field must not return home. 32 Remember what happened to Lot’s wife! 33 If you cling to your life, you will lose it, and if you let your life go, you will save it. 34 That night two people will be asleep in one bed; one will be taken, the other left. 35 Two women will be grinding flour together at the mill; one will be taken, the other left.

So after the devil is bound the sulfur will reign down and the Jesus will return. Believers are warned not to look back at our worldly lives, not to grab anything for our trip into a new spiritual realm, Christ’s millennial reign! If we do we will lose our salvation!

Lets look at the requirements to ‘Inherit the Kingdom’ passages:

1. Matthew 25:34

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. – those giving to the poor, hungry, homeless, weak.

2. 1 Corinthians 6:9

Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality,

10 or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God.

– not doing wrong by; indulging in sexual sin, idol worship, committing adultery, male prostitution, homosexuality, robbery, greed, drunkenness, being abusive, or cheating.

3. 1 Corinthians 15:50

NLT 1 Cor 15: 50 What I am saying, dear brothers and sisters, is that our physical bodies cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. These dying bodies cannot inherit what will last forever.

51 But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will all be transformed! 52 It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed. 53 For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies.

– in our mortal bodies we can not fully inherit the Kingdom of God, but we can be among the Kingdom! The Kingdom can be at hand.

4. Galatians 5:16-19

Living by the Spirit’s Power

16 So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. 17 The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions. 18 But when you are directed by the Spirit, you are not under obligation to the law of Moses.

19 When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

– no sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these.

5. Ephesians 5:5

You can be sure that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom of Christ and of God. For a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.

– no immoral, impure, or greedy persons

6. James 2:5

Listen to me, dear brothers and sisters. Hasn’t God chosen the poor in this world to be rich in faith? Aren’t they the ones who will inherit the Kingdom he promised to those who love him?

– God has chosen, preselected the poor in this world, those rich in faith to inherit the Kingdom

Requirements to Inherit the Kingdom:

– a heart for the poor, weak, prisoner and foreigner: helping and giving to the poor, hungry, homeless, and weak.

– turn from the sinful nature to follow the Holy Spirit: no immoral[sexual – adulterers, male prostitutes, homosexuals or non-sexually immoral], impure, idol worshipers, cheats, greedy, lustful, envious, drunkards, wild partiers or abusers.

– our mortal bodies we can not fully inherit the Kingdom of God, to inherit the Kingdom we need glorified bodies

– God has chosen, preselected the poor in this world, those rich in faith to inherit the Kingdom

I think we can see the Kingdom of God now if we can just be the new creation in Christ, and live out our Biblical call.

Luke 17 (KJV)
[20]And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: [21] Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

The Kingdom of God is not synonymous with the the millennial reign. The kingdom of God came nearer when Jesus started his teaching ministry, and was on earth by the time he left.  Isaiah tells us that it will forever increase. The millennial reign is not yet here!

This kingdom of God is already here on earth. While we are in these mortal bodies, we can not yet inherit it, but we can be a part of it, preaching about it, nurturing it in our lives, helping it to develop and grow here on earth. That’s the first thing we are to pray for in the Lord’s prayer, but most don’t even know what it is!

Dear God,

Please help us to fully yield to your Holy Spirit, to turn from our evil selfish desires, to fully embrace the call to humble service, sacrifice and love for others. May your kingdom come. May it continue to increase. Help us find our place in the Kingdom. We claim your promise to build us and complete us[Being Made Complete And Perfect] as we endeavor to seek you, serve you, and bring you glory. In Jesus mighty name we pray, Amen.
