God’s Shepherd Warning

These warning are not for isolated shepherds. They are applicable to all church leaders since the time of Jeremiah and Zechariah. Leaders who destroy and scatter the ones that they are to care for, God’s partners, will be struck down by his sword for their disobedience.  I believe this warning applies to the vast majority of today’s pastors!

The verses from scattering.

NLT Jer 23:11 “What sorrow awaits the leaders of my people—the shepherds of my sheep—for they have destroyed and scattered the very ones they were expected to care for,” says the LORD. 2 Therefore, this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says to these shepherds: “Instead of caring for my flock and leading them to safety, you have deserted them and driven them to destruction. Now I will pour out judgment on you for the evil you have done to them. 3 But I will gather together the remnant of my flock from the countries where I have driven them. I will bring them back to their own sheepfold, and they will be fruitful and increase in number. 4 Then I will appoint responsible shepherds who will care for them, and they will never be afraid again. Not a single one will be lost or missing. I, the LORD have spoken! 5 “For the time is coming,” says the LORD, “when I will raise up a righteous descendant from King David’s line. He will be a King who rules with wisdom. He will do what is just and right throughout the land. 6 And this will be his name: ‘The LORD Is Our Righteousness.’ In that day Judah will be saved, and Israel will live in safety.

The Scattering of the Sheep

NLT Zch 13:77 “Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, the man who is my partner,” says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies. “Strike down the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered, and I will turn against the lambs. 8 Two-thirds of the people in the land will be cut off and die,” says the LORD. “But one-third will be left in the land. 9 I will bring that group through the fire and make them pure. I will refine them like silver and purify them like gold. They will call on my name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘These are my people,’ and they will say, ‘The LORD is our God.’ ”

So these passages tell us that shepherds, these men who are God’s partners will be struck down and judged for their transgressions, for their scattering of the sheep.  The one third that are left in the land in the second passage is talking about the same folks as the remnant in the first passage.  These are the ones who see the evil in the church system.  They see the abomination of desolation standing in the holy place The Fall Of The Abomination

How do today’s pastor destroy and scatter the sheep?

By asking for tithes: Jesus successfully replaced the old temple system, and each Christ follower is now the temple. How can giving to buy and maintain a building, and paying for staff salaries be interpreted as giving to the New Testament temple? Tithing To Church; Robbery And Extortion

By teaching commands of men as commands of God: Commands Of The Lord

By ignoring the gathering commands, and destroying the power of the Holy Spirit to unify and develop all believers into his royal priesthood: THE MAIN Believer Gathering Must be a Believer Gathering

By exalting themselves, refusing the servant leader model that Jesus established, refusing to wash the feet of their flocks. Servant Leadership     Jesus Foot Washing Example

By building monuments to prophets Stop Majoring In The Minors, Stop Building Monuments To Prophets

By preaching peace peace when there is no piece, whitewashing the tarnished walls of their assemblies.

By persecuting the true prophet seekers

By teaching that Christ treats us better than we deserve.

I’ll argue that Jesus Christ would never accept the role of today’s church pastor. That role is un-biblical.   Pastoral Virus       Today’s Weak Churches

I see three primary contradictions between what today’s pastor’s do and what the Bible requires.

1. The Bible call is for servant leaders, not the lord over worldly leaders that we see in our churches. Servant Leadership

2. The Bible call is for Holy Spirit led participatory gathering, not the Man led performances that we are so used to. Gatherings About God Or Gatherings With God

3. Pastor’s Pay

The Bottom Line For Pastors:

It may be impossible for pastors to accept that remaining in this system that they were handed by their  predecessors will cost then their salvation. Like Uzzah [2 Sam 6:6] innocently trying to keep the arc from falling, this role forces you to  transgress against God’s ways.  You will be judged on the stricter church leader scale, the scale that requires good works with the humility that comes from wisdom, not the pride that comes from advanced degrees, appointment by men, and jealous ambition.

The Bottom Line For Churchgoers

Each churchgoer must decide for himself, will he continue to follow leaders who refuse to do things God’s way, who refuse to follow Paul’s examples.  If you remain in your Lukewarm Churches you will suffer in the ongoing  fall of Babylon. If you remain you will be cut off and die, but if you quietly listen and hear that still small voice you will be among the one-third, the pure remnant that Come Out From Babylon, From Today’s Harlot Church

Dear God,

Please deliver your flocks from this fallen priest class system and give us all a renewed hunger for your voice, and desire to obey. In Jesus mighty name we pray, Amen.
