Letter to Church Leaders

If you serve on a church council; a pastor relations committee; a finance, stewardship, or lay leadership committee; a church board of trustees, or if you guide any church ministry; if you are either designated or consider yourself to be a church elder or ministry leader; this letter is directed to you!

I pray that you can follow the steps below and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you to the truth. It may be unrealistic of me to think that he can pack the truths that he revealed to me over a two year period into one article, but with God all things are possible.

Step 1: First I ask you to spend a few moments to look to God, to appreciate and thank him for all that he has already done in your life. Please ask him to give you the gift of discernment, and to remove the scales that have hidden the truth from the church for generation after generation.

Step 2: Take a look at 1 Peter 3;14-18 below and ask yourself who are these men who twist Paul’s teaching. You probably have some serious questions dancing around in you thoughts.  I encourage you to go ahead and write those thoughts down, but before you do please investigate the references cited below. Please send me a comment and questions  so that this post can be real reference for all those seeking the truth! I’ll do my best to respond in a timely manner.

1 Peter 3;14 And so, dear friends, while you are waiting for these things to happen, make every effort to be found living peaceful lives that are pure and blameless in his sight. 15 And remember, the Lord’s patience gives people time to be saved. This is what our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you with the wisdom God gave him— 16 speaking of these things in all of his letters. Some of his comments are hard to understand, and those who are ignorant and unstable have twisted his letters to mean something quite different, just as they do with other parts of Scripture. And this will result in their destruction.

Peter’s Final Words 17 I am warning you ahead of time, dear friends. Be on guard so that you will not be carried away by the errors of these wicked people and lose your own secure footing. 18 Rather, you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. All glory to him, both now and forever! Amen.

So who are these ignorant unstable and wicked men who have twisted Paul’s letters to mean something quite different? We need to recognize them so that we too are not carried away by their errors an lose our footing. The alternate presented to following these wicked men is simply growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It looks like these men hinder our ability to grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ!

Servant Leadership cites the Biblical to servant leadership. It distinguishes between the worldly leadership mode [lording over] and real servant leadership.

Those ‘Whom God Knows Not’ cites the gathering command, the call to participatory worship gatherings (1 Cor 14;26-40) and looks at vs 37-38, the declaration to ignore leaders those who don’t follow the commands.

Step 3: Understand the call to purity and to keep the gathering clean. The Bible tells us to follow those who follow Paul’s example – that leaders who don’t are headed for destruction! If we continue to follow these blind leaders we will end up in the pit!

Good And Bad Preachers, Know God’s Distinction The bible is clear good Preachers build on the foundation that Paul established and follow the examples that he gave us. Those who won’t, virtually all ordained ministers in todays Lukewarm Laodicean Churches, are called enemies of God!

Step 4: We need to take our eyes off these blind leaders and begin developing the royal priesthood, the priesthood of all believers, helping encouraging supporting each other as we live out God’s call by responding to the Holy Spirit in our daily lives. The emphasis needs to come off growing the church, and be put on living authentic Christian lives in response to the Holy Spirit. The wohip service can no longer  be a scripted performance.  It need to be a participatory gathering led by the Holy Spirit.  Only then can we be the salt and the light, truly living out our calls and helping those around us with our spiritual gift.

Believer Gathering Essentials details the requirements for Biblical Worship Service. Outreaches need not meet these requirements, but weekly worship services must!

Step 5: Remember our true spiritual leaders are those who work hard among us (ref below). We need to continue to watch out for the pharisee leaven. I fear that even after an ordained minister humbles himself he might continue to do damage to the sheep.

Who Are Your Real Church Leaders? Builds on the discussions on Servant Leadership (above). The Bible declares that our Spiritual Leaders are those who work hard among us (not those above us in some misguided church hierarchy).

Step 6: Wake Up! You have been placed in a position of authority and responsibility to the Body of Christ. You have an obligation to serve and protect, yet you allow the wolves to roam free.

Church Councils – Wake Up! I don’t think that Pastors will be able to see this error. I’m afraid that the indoctrination that they receive at today’s seminaries goes too deep. It is up to the Lay leadership at today’s churches to correct this. It is in your hands.

Dear God,

We pray that you will reveal this error to all who seek you. Please forgive our presumptions in the past and help us to worship you in Spirit and in truth.

May God Guide and Protect You.

Glenn
