God’s Church Or Man’s Substitute

Are you attending a church that follows its New Testament call? Please check this out carefully. If you are attending a substitute or an imitation church you are not honoring God.

God’s church runs off simple obedience, responsiveness and humility, the power of God and His Holy Spirit, truth, and the hearts of servants.

Man’s substitute church runs off money, structure and pride, the strength of men, distortion, & the selfish desires of men.

I think if you honestly weigh your church in this balance it will tip the scale well towards the substitute Church. In my estimation, less than 1% of today’s American “Pastor Run” churches can claim to be Authentic “New Testament Churches”. This is explained at: Today’s Weak Churches   America’s Fallen Churches

I came across this book in a search today. “LIFE AFTER CHURCH: God’s Call to Disillusioned Christians’ by Brian Sanders. Let’s take a quick look at a review: http://www.christianbook.com/Christian/Books/product?item_no=836062&event=ECF “From personal experience as someone who has left the church, author Brian Sanders examines what factors erode our trust in congregational and institutional churches, while exploring what it really means to “be the church.” Sanders then exhorts disillusioned Christians to either remain in your church seeking Christ’s blessing and His reform, or to depart gracefully and move purposefully toward the kingdom of God that is beyond institution. In either situation, Brian reminds you to keep listening for God’s call.”

I personally could not longer remain in my church “seeking God’s blessing and reform” because she had no desire to seek one mind. Her leaders had declared their unwillingness to reconsider their assumptions. I suspect that this problem is widespread, but that should not stop you from first attempting to seek one mind, and to seek the truth.

I have prayed about this, pleading for the souls of the millions trapped in today’s counterfeit churches, pleading for the truth to be revealed to them, even claiming the promises in the Bible;.

The claimed promise; destroying false arguments & knocking down strongholds of human reasoning that keeps people from knowing God

NLT 2 Cor 10;3 We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. 4 We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. 5 We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ. 6 And after you have become fully obedient, we will punish everyone who remains disobedient. 7 Look at the obvious facts. Those who say they belong to Christ must recognize that we belong to Christ as much as they do. 8 I may seem to be boasting too much about the authority given to us by the Lord. But our authority builds you up; it doesn’t tear you down. So I will not be ashamed of using my authority.

Lets look at vs 6 again in Amplified Bible.

AMP 2 Cor 10;6 Being in readiness to punish every [insubordinate for his] disobedience, when your own submission and obedience [as a church] are fully secured and complete.

Perhaps this prayer has not been successful because my church has not yet achieved complete submission and obedience. Perhaps that is the reason this prayer has not yet been answered. I have seen some signs. Signs that a few pastors are beginning to catch on. Take a look at Francis Chang’s ‘Lukewarm & Loving it’.

What is this passage asking of us? What is complete submission and obedience? This is the summary of Being Made Complete And Perfect

Summary of Being Made Complete and Perfect:

We trust Jesus to initiate and perfect our faith, to transform us into a new creation as he fills us up with himself. We cooperate with this by living to please the Spirit, by listening to (and obeying) the Holy Spirit, not tiring of doing what is good, helping believers stay on track, paying careful attention to our own work (never comparing), following Paul’s example, confidant that God’s strength is best revealed in our weakness, never glorying in our abilities or accomplishments, but glorying only in the cross of Christ, letting him transform and fill us.

Dear God,

Please help us to trust Jesus to initiate and perfect our faith, to transform us into a new creation as he fills us up with himself, living only to please the Spirit, never glorying in our abilities or accomplishments, but glorying only in the cross of Christ, letting him transform and fill us, in Jesus name we Pray, Amen.
