The Deadly Error Of Today’s Church
What Pastors declare by their actions every week is that they are among Those ‘Whom God Knows Not’. Without understanding it, their actions disrespect God. They thumb their nose at a Command of the Lord, because their teachers told them this was OK.
The Bible describes a worship gathering in 1 Cor 14. Everyone is focused on the Holy Spirit, seeking and sharing. Mixed in with all the other voices are two or three mini messages by different speakers. Theres no time for today’s rambling sermons. There are more specifics given, but for now lets stop here.
These Liturgical (Pre-programmed pastor controlled) services were not a part of the first century church. They were not a part of the foundation that Paul laid for Christ’s church, the humble servant slave tent maker shepard preacher.
Building on Paul’s Foundation NLT 1 Cor 3;10
10 Because of God’s grace to me, I have laid the foundation like an expert builder. Now others are building on it. But whoever is building on this foundation must be very careful. 11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one we already have—Jesus Christ.
Sadly, history tells us we started falling away from full participation soon after 100 AD. One person began to monopolize the time.
What is really strange is that generation after generation of pastors have failed to recognize this error. Make no mistake about it, every Pastor at today’s “Pew Sitting Churches” is declaring:
1. We don’t need to follow the Biblical Commands for Worship Services. Our man made traditions are better.
2. There is no need for all of us to seek and share God’s Holy Spirit (as commanded THE MAIN Believer Gathering Must be a Believer Gathering). My training, my fervent seeking over the last week make me better at this than all of you. Just let me take this “burden” off your shoulders, and follow me.
The second step is the real killer. When the congregation is not aware of, or just not earnestly engaged in seeking what the Holy Spirit has to say to them, they miss out on one of the keys to their transformation. This seeking, this time of listening and sharing is one of the primary ways that the Holy Spirit can grow and transform his flock. This is one of the key ways that the flock plugs itself into the vine. If the flock is not plugged in to the vine, getting nourishment directly from Jesus, they can die spiritually!
The pastors have become so indoctrinated in these wrong traditions that they don’t even see it. They will deny that they are making either of these declarations, but that is no excuse for us to allow this to continue. The Bible warns us over and over again about blind teachers. Ditch Dwellers And Their Un-Biblical Doctrines Is Today’s Church Stuck In The Ditch With Disobedient Leaders
Pls understand that I personally don’t have anything against todays Liturgical church services, but the Bible does. People try to downplay the importance of the believer gathering commands in 1 Cor 14 because it only occurs once in the Bible. Can that be an argument to (so completely) ignore something identified as a command of the Lord? Perhaps these are the men that Peter talks about in 2 Peter 3;15
Those who mis-interpret Paul
NLT 2 Peter 3;15 And remember, the Lord’s patience gives people time to be saved. This is what our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you with the wisdom God gave him— 16 speaking of these things in all of his letters. Some of his comments are hard to understand, and those who are ignorant and unstable have twisted his letters to mean something quite different, just as they do with other parts of Scripture. And this will result in their destruction.
Could these be the blind leaders described in the Bible, the ones trusting traditions above Biblical commands?
NIV Mar 7;7 They worship me in vein; their teachings are but rules taught by men. You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to the traditions of men.
