Are You A Presumer – Performer?
Martha is the Biblical example of what I call a Presumer Performer. She was so busy doing stuff that she didn’t make time to sit at Jesus’ feet. She was so busy she stopped expending the effort necessary to be a seeker – follower.
Mary had it right. The first job of the believer is not to do. Our first Job is just to sit at the master’s feet and listen! To attend Real Communion Services seeking and sharing the Lord, trusting in the power of the Holy Spirit. If we jump in & help out wherever it looks like God needs us, our attitude contradicts scripture!
NLT Acts 17;24 “He is the God who made the world and everything in it. Since he is Lord of heaven and earth, he doesn’t live in man-made temples, 25 and human hands can’t serve his needs—for he has no needs. He himself gives life and breath to everything, and he satisfies every need.
God never needed us! He gives us the opportunity to cooperate with, to seek, to find, and to follow him. He even promises to transform us as we grow in him. But God does not want us taking our best guess at his will and jumping in. He really wants to direct us. He want us carrying the yoke that has selected for us. We are told to seek him and to follow him, to carry our cross, to carry the burden that he places on our shoulders. This is our call! Take a look at these verses.
NLT Matt 11;28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”
Living by the Spirit’s Power
NLT Eph 5;15 So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. 16 Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. 17 Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do. 18 Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit, 19 singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts.
What if you haven’t yet heard from the Holy Spirit what you should do? The Bible tells us the answer. We are to wait and keep seeking God, crying out to God day and night.
NLT Luke 18;6 Then the Lord said, “Learn a lesson from this unjust judge. 7 Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So don’t you think God will surely give justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? 8 I tell you, he will grant justice to them quickly! But when the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith?”
We are not to guess. We are not to presume. We have to stop performing and start seeking. God tells us to cry out day and nite until we hear. Those who don’t have the faith to keep seeking do not measure up to the faith that God requires. They are not seeking with all their heart and soul.
Our Pastor’s, even many in the remnant – those who have seen the abomination and come out of physical Babylon[our worldly church system], don’t yet understand this. All spiritual leaders should understand the problems of being presumer/performers, but unfortunately this is not the case.
Most of today’s seekers are stuck in the Presumer – Performer trap. They already spend time seeking God, but their expectations are not Biblical [trusting the Holy Spirit to lead them into all truth] they listen to men who preach follow me as I follow God. These false preachers preach low or no true expectations. If we never expect to hear from the Holy Spirit we probably won’t!
NLT James 1;5 If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. 6 But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. 7 Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do.
God promises his wisdom to those who faithfully expectantly seek him. Many fail to claim this promise. Even those who try to claim it can fall short. If we are letting the noise of the World cloud our perceptions and expectations, we can totally miss the ‘still small voice’.
Please guide all today’s Presumer – Performers back to your will, to seek you in spirit and in truth at Real Communion services [trusting the Holy Spirit to lead them into all truth] protecting them from today’s predatory wolf priesthood, from the false teachings of men; in Jesus name we Pray, Amen.
