What If?

WARNING! This message challenges a great deal of what today’s Christians have been taught, and what we have experienced in our churches. Pls ask God to help you to understand and accept these truths. Are you ready? Here we go!

What if? What if God sent his son to free all believers from a Priesthood of men. What if God set his son as the one & only priest for all believers. Clearly, this is what the Bible tells us. What if this new way, the way God set things up, was lost over time, and a Priesthood of men reestablished its authority. What if God never desired these elaborate ritualistic ‘worship services’, never wanted 1 long drawn out sermon. Does the fact that all these things actually happened somehow release us from what God’s word still calls us to do? The clear answer is NO!

When we view the History of the early church, God clearly shows us his desire – what he wanted for his church. We see a clear simple easily reproducible blueprint. God’s plan did not include extravagant services in extravagant buildings, it did not need vast financing, or resources. It did not need a highly educated leaders. He was clearly happy with a simple formula [one we totally ignore in today’s churches]. All that he needed was submitted humble hearts truly seeking him & willing to share & seek one mind with their brothers & sisters. 1 Cor 14;26-40 describes this gathering. Each believer participates & gradually develops into a priest as they seek the Lord together. God’s word is clear on this, while it may be necessary to offer some in God’s church salaries, whoever accepts a salary for their service must renounce God’s call on his service, it simply becomes his job. The word clearly identifies provides this distinction [1 Cor 9;14-17] something we do ‘on our own initiative’. The word also talks very clearly about servant leadership, reinforcing these concepts very clearly, requiring the top leader to be the slave [the unpaid servant] of all! Paul even stated that he would rather die than accept a salary as a preacher, and we are told to emulate Paul.

NLT Mat 20;25 But Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. 26 But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave . 28 For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Are slaves paid? Not last I checked! The pacher/teacher role is naturally the highest position in the church. God’s word clearly calls these men to reject a salary for their preaching. This same clear distinction is emphasized in Mark.

NLT Mark 10;41 When the ten other disciples heard what James and John had asked, they were indignant. 42 So Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. 43 But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, 44 and whoever wants to be first among you must be the slave of everyone else. 45 For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” –Why do none follow this clear teaching? They see that generation after generation have disobeyed, so they might think that it is now OK? I would not want to take that gamble!

Heb 13;8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. 9 So do not be attracted by strange, new ideas. Your strength comes from God’s grace, not from rules about food, which don’t help those who follow them. 10 We have an altar from which the priests in the Tabernacle have no right to eat. 11 Under the old system, the high priest brought the blood of animals into the Holy Place as a sacrifice for sin, and the bodies of the animals were burned outside the camp. 12 So also Jesus suffered and died outside the city gates to make his people holy by means of his own blood. 13 So let us go out to him, outside the camp, and bear the disgrace he bore. 14 For this world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come. – Is this something that should change? – I think not.

Mat 24;34 I tell you the truth, this generation will not pass from the scene until all these things take place. 35 Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words will never disappear.

There are many warnings about following human wisdom in the Bible. Let’s take a look.

Col 2;6 And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. 7 Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness. 8 Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ. 9 For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. 10 So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority. — make sure we are going directly to Christ, not relying on others ‘standing’ or ‘position’ in a worldly organizations.

2 Cor 10;2 Well, I am begging you now so that when I come I won’t have to be bold with those who think we act from human motives. 3 We are human , but we don’t wage war as humans do. 4 We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. 5 We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ. — [see spiritual warfare very bottom]

Gal 1;10-12 ‘Paul’s Message Comes from Christ’ 11 Dear brothers and sisters, I want you to understand that the gospel message I preach is not based on mere human reasoning. 12 I received my message from no human source, and no one taught me. Instead, I received it by direct revelation from Jesus Christ. — so we know Paul’s teachings are not of man, but of God.

Gal 3;1-4 Chapter 3 ‘The Law and Faith in Christ’ 1 Oh, foolish Galatians! Who has cast an evil spell on you? For the meaning of Jesus Christ’s death was made as clear to you as if you had seen a picture of his death on the cross. 2 Let me ask you this one question: Did you receive the Holy Spirit by obeying the law of Moses? Of course not! You received the Spirit because you believed the message you heard about Christ. 3 How foolish can you be? After starting your Christian lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort? 4 Have you experienced so much for nothing? Surely it was not in vain, was it? — it’s not by our own efforts, living Christian is simply just seeking & following God.

Phil 3;2 Watch out for those dogs, those people who do evil, those mutilators who say you must be circumcised to be saved. 3 For we who worship by the Spirit of God are the ones who are truly circumcised. We rely on what Christ Jesus has done for us. We put no confidence in human effort, 4 though I could have confidence in my own effort if anyone could. Indeed, if others have reason for confidence in their own efforts, I have even more!

Col 2;20-23 20 You have died with Christ, and he has set you free from the spiritual powers of this world. So why do you keep on following the rules of the world, such as, 21 “Don’t handle! Don’t taste! Don’t touch!”? 22 Such rules are mere human teachings about things that deteriorate as we use them. 23 These rules may seem wise because they require strong devotion, pious self-denial, and severe bodily discipline. But they provide no help in conquering a person’s evil desires. –man rules may seem wise self denial & pious, but they will not keep us from evil or evil desires.

1 Thes 2; 13 Therefore, we never stop thanking God that when you received his message from us, you didn’t think of our words as mere human ideas. You accepted what we said as the very word of God―which, of course, it is. And this word continues to work in you who believe.

Heb 2; 14 Because God’s children are human beings―made of flesh and blood―the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death. 15 Only in this way could he set free all who have lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying. 16 We also know that the Son did not come to help angels; he came to help the descendants of Abraham. 17 Therefore, it was necessary for him to be made in every respect like us, his brothers and sisters, so that he could be our merciful and faithful High Priest before God. Then he could offer a sacrifice that would take away the sins of the people. 18 Since he himself has gone through suffering and testing, he is able to help us when we are being tested. –Christ removed the need for & role of Priests. Now there is one Priest mediator for all

1 Tim 2; 5 For there is only one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity―the man Christ Jesus. 6 He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone. This is the message God gave to the world at just the right time. —

Heb 7;27 Unlike those other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices every day. They did this for their own sins first and then for the sins of the people. But Jesus did this once for all when he offered himself as the sacrifice for the people’s sins. 28 The law appointed high priests who were limited by human weakness. But after the law was given, God appointed his Son with an oath, and his Son has been made the perfect High Priest forever.

Heb 8;1 Here is the main point: We have a High Priest who sat down in the place of honor beside the throne of the majestic God in heaven. 2 There he ministers in the heavenly Tabernacle, the true place of worship that was built by the Lord and not by human hands.

Heb 9;14-15 14 Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our consciences from sinful deeds so that we can worship the living God. For by the power of the eternal Spirit, Christ offered himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins. 15 That is why he is the one who mediates a new covenant between God and people, so that all who are called can receive the eternal inheritance God has promised them. For Christ died to set them free from the penalty of the sins they had committed under that first covenant.

Spiritual Warfare Eph 6;12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. 14 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. 15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. 16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. 17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

1 Cor 4;20 For the Kingdom of God is not just a lot of talk; it is living by God’s power.– so let us be about this living by God’s power! Each soul desparately seeking God, seeking & accepting the assignments he gives us , Applying our spiritual gifts, re-establishing God’s church – his believer gatherings across the world, freeing all believers from the tyranny, the earthly wisdom of the Priesthood of men. We must fight against the evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. putting on every piece of God’s armor, able to resist the enemy, Standing our ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. The shoes, the Gospel of peace, the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. & the helmet of salvation and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Staying alert and persistent for all believers everywhere. Dear God help me get this cleaned up and posted soon. Pls quickly reveal any errors or omissions, that thy will be done. In Jesus name I pray, Amen

PS What of the existing Church. Are we to completely abandon them?

We are to abandon false teachings, loving the sinners, but never condoning or enabling the sin. Our focus needs to be establishing & growing believer gatherings, God’s true church, on a woldwide scale. We can support established churches that no longer perpetuate these deceptions, who’s paid staff understand their pay prohibits claiming this work is God’s call on their life, it’s just a job they picked. We can work to lead these churches to the truth. We want them to be supporting the growth of believer gatherings within their members. These changes won’t happen overnite, so I sought some personal clarification on this. I can continue to try to influence, to correct my church, to serve as long I can honestly claim my actions `are innocent, with no knowledge or intent to support the false priesthood, or to facilitate the deception.

Not my role to predict churches ability to correct themselves, to remain viable thru this reformation, to remove the evil from them. Their ability to submit will decide their fate.

NLT 2 Peter 3;16 speaking of these things in all of his letters. Some of his comments are hard to understand, and those who are ignorant and unstable have twisted his letters to mean something quite different, just as they do with other parts of Scripture. And this will result in their destruction.

May these teachings free you from this ongoing deception, and encourage you to follow the Lord’s call, either joining a submitted gathering of believers in your area, or influencing your church toward truth. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
