The Decision Of A Lifetime
God’s Word summons everyone to a Jury. It charges each individual with a fundamental question, one with eternal consequences. There are many different ways to state the question. Here are a few;
1. Is Jesus & his sacrifice for real?
2. Can I trust what the Bible says? – Is it what it claims to be?
3. Couldn’t God have come up with a more plausible story – This Gospel sounds so crazy. It just doesn’t seem right?
The bottom line is – Will I trust God. There is no “Maybe” or “beyond a reasonable doubt” here. Everything but a full unconditional “yes – I will trust God with my life”, translates into “no count me out”. The attitude that accompanies a “Yes, for now” soon deteriorates into a “no” unless we are diligently & earnestly seeking God.
NIV “The Narrow and Wide Gates” Mat 7;13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
This verse goes on to tells us that the deciding factor is our relationship with Jesus. If we continue doing what we want instead of what he asks, if we continue doing evil, we’ll be thrown out with the Goats.
Unless we are seeking God’s will instead of our own, actively applying the Bible, God’s Word, in our lives & getting out of God’s way [more fully developed at LetGodLead], trusting and letting him lead; we are rejecting him. When we really trust him our life will change.
Soon after we say yes, our lives become centered around a few questions;
How can I know Jesus better?
What new treasures will I find in God’s word today?
Why am I here & What is God’s will for my life?
May God Bless and fill you, in Jesus name we Pray, Amen.
